Tactile Indicators

Floorsafe's Tactile Indicators should be used to warn of impending hazards for the vision impaired under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

Tactile's generally have a flat or stemed base which is attached to the flooring surface using a strong epoxy style cement. They are designed to meet Australian Standards (AS/NZS: 1428) and Building Codes of Australia.

APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:
• External public access areas - bus stops, railways and ferry platforms
• Steps, landings, escalators and ramps

PLASTIC TACTILES:
These Tactiles are manufactured from a heavy duty damage resistand plastic and are both hard wearing and cost effective. The come in both white and yellow and surpass 70% contrast requirements.They have a multi directional anti slip surface

STAINLESS STEEL TACTILES:
A stainless steel stud version is available. This has an additional 13mm stem which is inserted into pre-drilled holes in the flooring surface to offer additional security.

INDIVIDUAL STUDS:
• Coloured plastic, 316 stainless steel & carborundum in-filled
• Tactiles are R-12 rated for anti-slip safety
• Provide a permanent solution for tactile guidance
• Products are UV stable
• Meet all the required standards.

TAC-PADS:

Like Tactiles, Floorsafe's Tac-Pad Indicators should be used to warn of impending hazards for the vision impaired under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

The can quickly cover a large area and are commonly used in the following areas:

  • External public access areas - bus stops, railways and ferry platforms
  • Can be recessed or placed on top of existing substrate
