Tactile Pads for the Visually Impaired

Tactile Pads (Tac-Pads) Floorsafe's Tac-Pad Indicators should be used to warn of impending hazards for the vision impaired under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

The Tac-Pads can be directly applied on to the substrate or recessed.   They are made from silicon rubber they are hard wearing, meet 70% contrast, non colour fade and anti-slip resistant and are designed to meet Australian Standards (AS/NZS: 1428) and Building Codes of Australia. They are also very cost effective.

APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:

TAC-PAD 72:

These Floorsafe Tac-Pad 72 units consist of a flat base which covered with 72 evenly spaced molded tactile buttons. 600mm x 300mm .

These allow for rapid, secure application of a large area.

Supplied complete with adhesive.
TAC-PAD 8 Directional:

The Floorsafe Tac-Pad 8 units consist of a flat base which covered with 8 raised ridges.

These allow for rapid, secure application of a large area.

Supplied complete with adhesive. 
TACTILE INDICATORS (INDIVIDUAL):

Like Tac-Pads, Floorsafe's Tactiles Indicators should be used to warn of impending hazards for the vision impaired under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

The individual domes can be applied as required to areas where sheets of Tac-Pads would not be suitable.  Tactiles come in both hard wearing plastic and attractive stainless steel.

They are commonly used in the following areas:

  • Steps, landings, escalators and ramps
  • External public access areas - bus stops, railways and ferry platforms
